About our Veterinarian

Meet Dr. Thomas

Dr. Thomas’s journey to veterinary medicine began early—born into a military family, she spent much of her childhood in Germany before returning to Mountain Home, Arkansas. A natural athlete, she competed at the NCAA level while attending Arkansas State University, developing a lifelong appreciation for performance, discipline, and dedication—qualities she now brings to her veterinary practice.

In 2012, Dr. Thomas fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian when she was accepted to Louisiana State University. After graduation, she joined a small animal clinic as one of four doctors, gaining valuable experience and building a foundation in compassionate, individualized care. Her passion for helping performance athletes—both human and animal—led her to pursue certification with the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association, allowing her to expand her expertise in alternative therapies such as chiropractic care.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Thomas is devoted to her family, spending time with her husband, their baby girl, and their dogs, Clyde and Cash. Weekends are often filled cheering on her daughter in competitive gymnastics, and she enjoys traveling, fishing, and snowboarding whenever she can. She is also an enthusiastic supporter of her alma mater, often found cheering during football, gymnastics, and baseball seasons.

Dr. Thomas combines her medical expertise, athletic insight, and love for animals to provide care that keeps pets healthy, active, and thriving.

The Story of our Logo

Waterfront Animal Hospital

Meet the inspirations behind our logo. The Doberman is modeled after Crash, Dr. Thomas’s loyal companion throughout her college years. Together, they navigated the challenges of veterinary school, forming a bond that represents resilience, dedication, and unwavering support.

The cat, Carol, came into Dr. Thomas’s life early in her veterinary career. Initially a fragile and ill kitten, Carol quickly made a remarkable recovery under Dr. Thomas’s care, growing into a vibrant and spirited cat who truly embodies the phrase “nine lives.”

When establishing Waterfront Animal Hospital, Dr. Thomas knew she wanted to honor the two pets who played such a meaningful role in her journey. Their stories are a reflection of the compassion, perseverance, and commitment to care that define our practice today.
